Kim Matthews Wheaton returns to Second Space with new work. Redolent with the retreating rays of the sun, these new paintings are executed with confidence, verve and solemnity. Having shown her work in Paris on many occasions, she takes an erudite approach to the vast landscape of her adopted home in Eastern Washington. Her perceptive renderings of our gorgeous natural surroundings help us to reexamine the light, the air and the powerful essence of the land that envelops us. Original works and prints will be offered for sale. We will have a reception for the artist on Friday, October 7th from 5-8 pm.

It is rare to follow a painter who’s vision is as fluid, inspiring and consistent as Kim Wheaton’s. Her paintings have a unique flair and a sense of color that is truly extraordinary. Her impressionistic soft tones have a timeless quality. I never tire of her pastoral and quiet landscapes!
I have followed Kim Matthews Wheaton’s work for years and she is even more
thrilling now. When I look at her paintings I feel instantly what time of day it is .
..what the temperature is… what the air smells like…I am there. THAT is a true
artist! And Kim Matthews Wheaton is one of the best!
